Westport is an attractive town at the head of Clew
Bay, on the Mayo coast, in the shadow of Croagh Patrick - The
Pilgrim's Mountain.
Winner of Ireland's 'Tidy Town ' competition three
times in the past decade, it straddles the River Carrow with
tree-lined promenades (The Mall) and a formal, planned town
centre.
The Clew Bay Hotel is located in the centre of the town near
the Octagon with great access to all the town's attractions. It
has two restaurants, The Riverside and Madden's Bistro, near
Madden's Bar - a popular pub where guests and locals can enjoy
traditional music and the craic. The town's location also makes
it the perfect base from which to explore both Achill to the
north and Connemara to the south.
After the successful launch of this Winter Warmer tour last
year, we are delighted to offer an extended programme for 2012.
Contrast the bracing Atlantic air on your visit to beautiful
Achill with the cosy atmosphere of this town centre hotel where
a fascinating programme of evening in-house demonstrations
includes quilting, brown bread baking and cocktail making.
