Birmingham has been twinned with Frankfurt for over 40 years. This relationship has led to many exchange programmes, not least the Frankfurt Christmas Market, which has graced the centre of Birmingham for the past 10 years. With around 180 stalls, including the Craft Fair, this is one of the largest outdoor Christmas Markets

in Britain.

Enjoy the delights of German mulled wine (Gluhwein), grilled sausage, pretzels, German beer, gingerbread, crepes and marzipan sweets. At the heart of the market, in Victoria Square there is a traditional bandstand where musicians perform every lunchtime and evening. Local carol singers and schoolchildren also perform throughout the festive period. The tour is based just a very short walk from the market at the modern boutique Ibis Hotel, on a bed and breakfast basis. Enjoy being in the heart of the action, not only for the super Christmas Market but also all the other city centre attractions of Britain's second city.
