Kinsale is more than 'just' the Gourmet Capital of Ireland - though that's a title to be envied - it's a picturesque, popular and extremely fashionable resort with a continental feel where yachting, sea angling and Dolphin & Whale watching play important roles. It's a medieval town, with narrow streets, beautiful buildings, traditional bars and lots of craft shops and galleries - and, of course the restaurants.
The Trident Hotel is situated on the waterfront, with views over the harbour and out to sea - and only a 5 minute walk from the centre of the town. The hotel is a member of the Kinsale Good Food Circle, specialising in seafood and there is a lively bar with live entertainment. There are 75 tastefully decorated guest bed-rooms - all with panoramic windows and either partial or full harbour views. They are all en-suite of course and each room has flat screen LCD TV, direct-dial telephone, hairdryer, iron & ironing board, and tea/coffee making facilities.
Usually, at this point we would extol the virtues of the location as "the ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area" - but why would you want to leave? So we cram all the "touring into one big day - all the way along the coast of West Cork to Mizen Head and Bantry before returning to follow the river Bandon back to Kinsale - the rest of the time is free to enjoy the many attractions of this beautiful resort.
