Goodwood Festival of Speed from £395

Visits to the annual Festival of Speed at Goodwood and National Motor Museum at Beaulieu with the Top Gear Exhibition makes this a fascinating trip for all transport lovers.

The Festival of Speed takes place every year at the Goodwood Estate. It is famously known for its hillclimb competition, which takes place throughout the Festival weekend on a 1.16-mile course on parkland roads in the grounds of Goodwood House. The Festival can justifiably claim to be the world's biggest and most diverse celebration of the history of motor sport and car culture.

This is the only occasion where you will see the greatest competition cars and star drivers from all eras in action. Everything from 19th century steam carriages to current Formula One cars; fabulous racing motorcycles; classic rally cars to 3000bhp dragsters; plus motor sport legends like Moss, Surtees, Fittipaldi and Andretti rubbing shoulders with today's hottest properties such as Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso and Petter Solberg.

Our second visit of the tour is the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. Exhibits include some of the earliest examples of motoring to legendary World Record Breakers like Bluebird, 'TV Star' cars like Del Boy's Reliant Robin and rare oddities like the giant orange on wheels.

Beaulieu also plays home to the World of Top Gear. Have you ever wondered what happened to the amphibious Toyota, the Alfa/Saab stretch limo and the Reliant Robin rocket that were drowned/cut in half/fired into space by Jeremy, James and Richard in the good name of Top Gear? Beaulieu has collected all the battered, modified and generally ruined cars from the world's biggest car show and gathered them together in…the Top Gear Enormodrome!

You can take a look around the cars from the challenges, get a rare behind-the-scenes view into the show's production office, and enjoy clips of some of the best Top Gear moments.

The final visit of this motoring trip see us visiting the Coventry Transport Museum where you can rattle your bones on one of the earliest cycles and blow your mind when you feel the force of the land speed record. With thrills, nostalgia, inspiration and a little bit of education, Coventry Transport Museum will excite and interest everyone.
