The original Antrim Arms Hotel, on the elevated, landmark site in the centre of Portrush, was acquired for the Railway Company in the 1880's - to "accommodate high-class tourist visiting the Giant's Causeway". It was re-named "The Northern Countries" and, as such became synonymous with resort and recognised as one of Northern Ireland's top hotels.
Today, rebuilt and renamed (The Ramada), it stands proudly overlooking the harbour and the ocean, ever-ready to welcome 'top tourists' once more on a new series of Ulsterbus Tours.
