Only in York will you still discover the Romans, Vikings, Saxons and Normans! You can take part in an authentic archaeological excavation at "D.I.G." and you may well find real objects from the city's rich at the Jorvik Viking Centre. For something a little less earthly try the infamous Ghost Walk or the Dungeon where you will receive a history lesson to remember! For a day out of York there is the Flamingo Land Theme and Eden Camp, a museum located in a former WWII prisoner of war camp.

Each year more schools discover the many treasures hidden away in Northumbria. Ever popular attractions in The Centre for Life, which provides a hands-on science education, the Blue Reef Aquarium, which inspires a deeper understanding of the natural world, and the adventurous Wet n' Wild. There is Alnwick Castle, famous for its Harry Potter activities, and Beamish, the most effective open-air museum in Britain. Round it of with a tour of either St James Park or the Stadium of Light.

North Wales offers pupils an opportunity to experience a very different culture. The selection of mines, power stations and narrow gauge railways gives any tour a unique character. Trips down slate, copper or gold mines, to the top of mountains by train, or to a power station hidden inside a mountain have all left lasting impressions on school children. You can also experience the history of Roman life with a visit to the Dewa Roman Experience in Chester followed by a visit to Chester Zoo.

Glasgow combines the energy & sophistication of a great international city with spectacular scenery & it also offers a much cheaper option to staying in Edinburgh. Visits include the marvellous Science Centre, with its hands-on Science Mall and IMAX Theatre, the Riverside Museum, which has over 3,000 transport objects on display and the excitement of a stadium tour at Celtic Park, Ibrox or Hampden Park. Holland is our closest continental neighbour. Tours include a guided canal trip in Amsterdam, Anne Franks House and a visit to the Amsterdam Arena. The unique thrill of the very Dutch De Efteling Theme Park along with the fascinating Holland in miniature at Madurodam make Amsterdam and its surrounding area are a very popular visit for school groups from all over the UK.
